Himself for me.

I was listening to a sermon this morning and this phrase the preacher repeated caught my attention because I remembered reading a poem about it.

I found the lyrics and a tune but can't find who authored it.

Unto the upright...

I keep coming back to this verse.
I find great encouragement here .
When I am guilty and need His grace and mercy, I have His promise here in His Word: He is gracious.
When sad news abounds, He is full of compassion.
Though I have been unrighteous, His work on the Cross paid my debt and He imputes His righteousness to me when I confess and forsake my sins.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

In Him there is no darkness at all.
When we come to Him, He shines His light. We can either walk in it,
or choose to reject Him.
Why would anyone choose eternal darkness and misery
over eternal light and joy and glory?

Thank You Lord for Your light, Your grace,
Your compassions which never fail, and Your righteousness.
Please help me always
to choose to walk in Your light.

Christ's glorious love

Ever since I heard this hymn, I loved it. Tonight was the first time I have heard the 4th verse. I've looked it up before and not seen a 4th verse. I think it's beautiful.
How amazing that the Lord Most High, the King before whom every knee will bow, the Creator of all things, has bowed down low! I'm so glad that He chose to bestow His glorious love on me! Truly we should never cease from singing His praise for the wonderful blessings of mercy, grace, forgiveness and loving-kindness that He has showered upon us! What a privilege to be His child, because He made it possible for us to be reconciled to God.

The Fool

I just finished watching the Living Waters movie "The Fool".
Just over an hour. Well worth watching.

I found it really encouraging.
Important message. Check it out.

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”"
1 Corinthians 1:18-19
